About Heidi
Mind-body Therapist
I have been helping people create better lives since 1995. Over the years, I have had the privilege of helping people as a life coach, registered clinical counsellor, yoga therapist, and yoga/pilates instructor.
Obtaining a BA in Psychology and an MEd in Counselling Psychology taught me a lot about psychological theory and counselling techniques. However, being a good therapist is not something I learned in books.

I help you observe your nervous system to become familiar with how your experiences manifest in your emotions, mind, and body. I do this within a framework of developmental psychology and attachment, which explain human growth and development over the lifespan. I utilize client-centred listening and responding to guide me toward interventions from cognitive behavioural and mind-body perspectives.
The interventions will allow you to witness and explore the causal interactions within your mind and body. The goal is to increase coherence or understanding and to improve integration of awareness, emotion and action.

Where is your office?
I’m based in West Vancouver, BC. I also offer online sessions if that’s more convenient for you.
What is a session like?
I take a collaborative and compassionate approach to counselling. Depending on your needs, we might incorporate talk therapy, somatic techniques, EMDR, mindfulness, or yoga therapy. Each session is guided by what feels most supportive for you.
How long will I need to come to therapy?
That really depends on your goals and what you’re hoping to work through. Some people come for a few sessions, while others stay longer. We can talk about this together as we go.
